Dr. Jayme Jones received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kansas. She then completed additional training at both LAC-USC and Harbor-UCLA Medical Centers. She has worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings, primarily with children and adolescents.

Dr. Jones has maintained a private practice since 1995. She completed her post-doctoral training in Neuropsychology at Fielding Institute. Currently, she provides neuropsychological evaluation, individual and family consultation and psychodynamically oriented psychotherapy to children, adolescents and adults.  

 

Dr. Jones has an extensive background in the assessment and treatment of pre-school and early school-aged children who have a variety of neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders such as Autism, ADHD, learning disorders, PTSD, mood disorders and anxiety disorders. She emphasizes early understanding and intervention to assist parents in managing their children’s behavior and helping their children reach their highest potential. She has a particular interest in the impact of trauma on development and is also an expert in the treatment of traumatic crises and loss in both adults and children. Dr. Jones also assesses children with regard to the effects of  mild to moderate traumatic brain injuries, seizures, and endocrine and metabolic disorders.  

 

Dr. Jones provides regular trainings on various topics, including child development, autism, attentional disorders, the evaluation of neurodevelopmental disorders, and the evaluation and treatment of trauma. She also serves as a consultant and expert witness in criminal and civil forensic settings on matters related to both neuropsychological assessment and trauma. She is currently an adjunct faculty member at California State University, Long Beach. Dr. Jones practices in Torrance.
